The educational program B6 "Spectacular and Theatrical Events" has nearly 50 years of history and is the only one among universities and colleges in the Dnipro region that trains specialists in the performing arts field. Our program opens the world of theatre, shows, and contemporary performance!
We are looking for creative individuals who see the world through the lens of art and action; those who dream of creating bright theatrical events, shows, festivals, and performances; those who want to explore how cultural institutions, art centers, stages, and backstage function; and those who aspire to develop their own style as a director, organizer, and performer of spectacular events.
The main prospect of mastering the "Spectacular and Theatrical Events" specialization is the preparation of organizers for cultural and leisure activities, organizers of theatrical celebrations and rituals, and leaders of amateur theatre groups. Mastering the course will help develop competencies aimed at solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of stage professional activity or during training.
PROGRAMMATIC PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
- ABILITY TO DEMONSTRATE: Basic knowledge in the field of theatrical, scriptwriting arts, and performing practices necessary for mastering general professional disciplines; a complex of professional knowledge and skills for creating a comprehensive spectacular and theatrical event, including performances and art projects; knowledge of the methodology for creating a stage image of a performance, theatrical event, or performance; knowledge of the principles and methods of working on oneself as an actor during professional activity in both traditional and experimental art forms;
- ABILITY TO: Synthesize traditional classical forms and innovative performative practices while creating a comprehensive spectacular and theatrical event; use various methods of audience activation in spectacular and theatrical events and performances; popularize the best examples of national and world culture and art through various forms of theatrical events, festivals, art activities, and performances.
- EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Cultural and leisure activity organizer, cultural organizer in children's extracurricular institutions, leader of an amateur children's group (club, studio, etc.), leisure organization specialist, organizer of theatrical folk holidays, rituals, and contemporary artistic performances.

OPPORTUNITIES
- Creative community of the college — the college has 8 creative specialties and 17 educational programs, forming a large community of creative youth and educators. The constant flow of events, exhibitions, concerts, and open lectures provides inspiration, new professional contacts, a drive for development, and professional growth.
- Internships at leading cultural, artistic, and media institutions — during studies, students regularly undertake internships at leading stage venues in Dnipro, cultural institutions, and art spaces.
- Scholarships for students — students in the budget form of study are eligible for academic or social scholarships. The top 40% of students in the course, as well as students in privileged categories, may receive corresponding payments.
- Admission to bachelor's programs for senior courses — according to current legislation, there is an opportunity to enter senior courses of higher education institutions for bachelor's programs in this specialty. The college partners with the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture and Lviv National Ivan Franko University.
- Dormitory availability — the college has a dormitory for students from regions, territorial communities, and other regions of Ukraine. The dormitory is equipped with a shelter and has convenient transport connections.
FACULTY OF THE SPECIALIZATION COMMISSION
- Anastasia Pyrsenkova — Master of Stage Arts, director and organizer of cultural events, mass events, and concerts, head of the director’s discipline cycle committee, coordinator of the creative volunteers community.
- Kristina Medina — Master of Stage Arts, founder and director of the theatrical space "Feelintown" and the creative association of artists "Metaphora Stage", screenwriter, playwright.
- Oleksandr Glumov — director, actor, mime, instructor of actor’s mastery and stage movement, video and sound designer, artistic director of "GlumART" theatre, assistant artistic director of "DRAMiCOM" theatre.
- Svitlana Chuyko — Candidate of Cultural Studies, teacher of the highest category, methodologist. Teaches disciplines: direction of theatrical events, scriptwriting, acting mastery, stage speech. Has worked at the college since 1978; during this time, has staged many performances based on plays by Ukrainian and foreign playwrights.
- Olena Paliy — Specialist in Theatre Arts, director of variety and mass celebrations, organizer and producer of theatrical events and shows, screenwriter, winner of international theatre competitions and festivals.
- Nina Kondratyeva
- Anton Mezhenin — Ukrainian theatre director, producer, theatre manager, educator, winner of international festivals. Chief director of the Sumy Regional Academic Drama and Musical Comedy Theatre named after Mykola Shchepkin (2015–2018), and Dnipro Academic Drama and Comedy Theatre — DRAMiCOM (since August 2021).

STUDY AND DISCIPLINES
- The duration of studies is 3 years and 10 months. After completing the 2nd year, students receive a certificate of complete general secondary education, and after completing the 4th year, they receive a diploma of a Junior Specialist in the specialty B6 "Performing Arts", qualification: "Variety Artist", "Organizer of Theatrical Events", "Leader of an Amateur Theatrical Group."
- Professional disciplines: basics of direction, direction of theatrical events, fundamentals of stage speech, scriptwriting, stage movement, hosting mastery, spoken genre in variety, acting skills, working with amateur groups, theatre management, sound design of performances, stage design of performances, producing, makeup and hairstyling, solo singing, arts, ethnology, cultural studies, as well as general education disciplines and English for professional purposes.
ADMISSION 2025
- A large number of budget places — this year Dnipro Art College has the opportunity to enroll at least 15 students for regional order places based on basic secondary education (9th grade).
- Admission by creative competition — to enroll in the educational program, you must pass a creative exam, which includes: a video introduction, poem declamation, script development, acting sketch. (view the creative competition program)
- Motivation letter — an obligatory document submitted along with the application through the applicant’s electronic cabinet. This is your chance to present your strengths.
- Preparatory program for admission — a three-month program that qualitatively prepares applicants for the creative competition. It runs from February 1 to June 1. You can join at any stage.
- Estimated dates for the admission campaign — submission of applications: July 1-14. Interviews: July 15-23. Results publication and enrollment: July 24-31.
