On October 20th, we celebrated the 140th anniversary of the birth of the Ukrainian composer, educator, music critic, and public figure, Yakov Stepovyi.
While musicologists consider him one of the founders of the national compositional school, we are only now beginning to truly discover the music and biography of this outstanding figure in the history of Ukrainian culture.
In honor of the composer's anniversary, Natalia Rekunenko, a teacher of the Audiovisual Arts department, and pianist Olena Lonhinova have created a special enlightment online project that combines biographical facts, Stepovyi's music, and Ukrainian visual arts.
