Students from Dnipro Art College, together with animators from the Fitt Youth Center in Timișoara (Romania), created an animation based on Vasyl Symonenko’s fairy tale “King Plaksiy and Loskoton”
Students from the Dnipropetrovsk Professional Art and Culture College (Dnipro Art College) took an inspiring trip to Romania. Over the course of a week, they worked on a joint animation project.
The host organizations were: the Ukrainian community in Timișoara, “Faina Ukraine,” and the Romanian youth center “FITT Timișoara.” They gave our artists a warm and sincere welcome and prepared a rich cultural program:
-Fascinating tours of the picturesque city of Timișoara.
-An introduction to local culture.
-A special master class on making traditional Ukrainian varenyky, held at the headquarters of the Ukrainian organization in Romania, “Faina Ukraine.”
Entertainment alternated with serious professional work. Workshop participants were divided into four international teams, each comprising both Ukrainian and Romanian students.
Each creative group worked on a separate segment of the future animated film. The final stage involved combining the four unique segments into a single cohesive animation project.
It was an incredible challenge and experience. Usually, young animators work alone, but here they had to become a single team. This helped them improve their spoken English, learn to find common ground in a foreign-language environment, and understand how the European art community functions.
This trip was made possible by the Erasmus+ program. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our partners for providing our students with such a unique opportunity. It was a powerful boost to their professional, creative, and personal growth!
