An intermedia artist and professor at Poland’s Jan Kochanowski University, Maciej Zdanowicz, visited the Dnipro Art College and conducted an engaging workshop for students.
At the Center for Contemporary Culture in Dnipro, a three-hour workshop "Creating an Interactive Toy Inspired by Ukrainian Folklore" was held under the guidance of Dr. Maciej Zdanowicz. The event brought together talented students from the Fine Arts Department and Creative Practices Department, who collaborated to design unique paper toys. Participants delved into the rich cultural heritage of the Dnipropetrovsk region, blending traditional motifs with modern design concepts.
As a result, each toy became not only an embodiment of folkloric authenticity, but also served as contemporary interpretations capable of inspiring and surprising.
We sincerely thank all participants for their creativity and enthusiasm, and extend our gratitude to Dr. Maciej Zdanowicz for an unforgettable experience and invaluable knowledge!
We also extend our gratitude to Professor Anna Miarka, a graduate of the Ergonomic Design Studio, who specializes in therapeutic products, particularly for manual therapy and sensory integration. During the workshop, she presented her new concept — a set of sensory toys inspired by the flora and fauna of the Red Sea, highlighting the issue of Earth's pollution.
